Elizabeth and Ben
8/17/2011: Ben, Gary, Elizabeth and Rod set out for Granite Lake in the High Sierra. We had an excellent trip although it only lasted three nights – way too short. This was the first backpack trip we had taken together since we went to the Wallowa Mountains in 2006. We took many pictures of lakes, mountains, granite, streams, trees, each other, and the many, many wildflowers. This had to be one of the top five wildflower trips we have ever taken. The flora was incredible, and the fauna was in abundance, but alas, it was primarily of only one kind: mosquitoes. Plenty of DEET and staying on the move kept them at Bay for the most part.
